Read and Write Privileges for User Groups

Generally speaking, the latest operating systems allow only administrative users to install software. It is then the admistrative user's responsibility to assign the level of access which the various user groups will have on the installed files. This level of access is determined by the "Privileges" which a given user or group is assigned on the various files of the installed application.

Some of our applications keep records of the student performance and therefore must update certain of the installed files. As a security measure, the operating system will not allow us to set the privileges for files during installation.

Different schools or different administrators may have their own policies regarding the access of user groups. The best we can do is point out that some files will require write privileges.
