A Note About Uninstalling and Re-installing on the PC

Uninstalling and re-installing our applications should be an easy task. There are two important points:

1) The person doing the uninstalling should be working in an account with administrative privileges.

2) The uninstaller should use the built-in removal tool which was installed with every application in the START / All PROGRAMS/ menu. Usually this tool is named "Remove" + the application's name. (ex. "Remove Car Builder") see example below...

There are other ways to uninstall programs - like using the Control Panel's "Add or Remove Programs" utility. But these other methods will not remove items from the Registry and will cause re-installation problems later on.

If you have already used the Control Panel to remove on of our applications, upon re-installation you may encounter this message...

"The registry indicates that this application has already been installed."

This message tells you that either the application has not been uninstalled at all, or that it was uninstalled without using the built-in removal tool mentioned above. In this case it may be best to contact us to determine which Registry items must be changed.

Activation of re-installed application

After uninstalling and re-installing, the application must be activated. If you made a note of your activation number this can be accomplished by entering the number in the pop up dialog box which appears when you first run the program. Remember, however, that this activation number is unique to the machine which originally requested it. So if you attempt to install the program on a different machine and then use the activation number which worked for the original machine it will not be accepted. Of course, if you don't remember the activation number you can still go online again to get it.
